What is a Required Service?
A Required Service involves removing organic material such as leaves, sticks, branches, etc. except grass on your Customer's lawn. This debris may cover the lawn and make mowing impossible until the yard is cleaned up. Required Service is interchangeable with Required Cleanup and Cleanups. Different terms may be used in your web account and Pro App, but they refer to the same concept.
What is the difference between Required Service and Recommended Service?
Recommended Service is a service you will recommend to your Customer that aims to address any potential issues, enhance the overall appearance, and promote the long-term health of their lawn.
Required Service, on the other hand, is a service that you need to complete before you can mow their lawn.
What are the types of Required Services?
There are two types of Required Services:

General Cleanup - this is for when the Customer's yard has organic debris that will prevent you from mowing such as limbs, branches, vines, etc. except grass.

Leaf Cleanup - this is for when there are too many leaves in the Customer's yard for you to mow.
How can I submit a Required Service?
You can submit a Required Service by following the steps in the Rescheduling for Required Cleanups section of the article How-to: Reschedule Jobs.
Can I start the Required Service before my Customer approves it?
No, the quote must be approved by your Customer before you can perform the Service.
This is important because we cannot guarantee that you will get paid if you do work without an approved quote.
Can a Support Agent submit a Required Service quote on my behalf?
No, Support Agents cannot add a Required service or submit a quote on your behalf. You should be the one to quote the service using the Pro App.
Can I submit a Required Service instead of a Long Grass report?
No, a Required Service will only handle organic debris on your Customer's lawn. This does not include removing long grass.
If your Customer's grass is too long, you should report it as Long Grass.
What if the lawn has inorganic debris?
Inorganic debris such as plastic, glass, bottles, furniture, or toxic materials like batteries and oil are considered property obstructions.
Does the Required Service include mowing?
A Required Service does not include mowing or removing long grass from the Customer's yard.
What if the Customer's grass is too long?
If you cannot mow due to long grass, report it as Long Grass.
Is the Required Service included in the lawn mowing price?
No, Required Service is charged separately.
Will my Customer get notified if I submit a Required Service?
Yes, your Customers will get notified when you submit a Required Service.
What will happen if my Customer declines the Required Service?
If your Customer declines the Required Service you submitted, their lawn mowing service will be canceled.
What will happen if the Required Service quote expires?
If the Required Service quote expires, your Customer's lawn mowing service will be canceled.
Is the price of the Required Service the same for all my Customers?
No, the quote will depend on your estimation of work which is why the price of a Required Work can vary from one Customer to another.
