In addition to our Lawn Mowing service, Lawnstarter and Lawn Love offers a variety of landscaping services such as Leaf Removal, Bush Trimming, Flower Bed Weeding, and more. The Customers can put in a request for an Instant Quote with a system-generated price, a Manual Quote, or the Pro can submit a Manual Quote. This article includes some Frequently Asked Questions about these services. Pros can access all of our brands through any of our apps which include: Lawnstarter, Lawn Love, & Home Gnome.
Q&A
What type of Instant Quotes can the Customer request?
A Customer can set up an Instant Quote for either Bush Trimming, Leaf Removal, or Flower Bed Weeding.
How are prices generated for Instant Quotes?
The Customer is asked a series of questions that determine how much work is required and the system generates a price based on their data.
Do I have to accept Instant Quotes?
No, you can either accept them or decline them.
What if Instant Quote Price is too low?
Do not accept it. The system will give you the opportunity to enter a backup price.
Will I lose a Customer for Lawn Mowing Service if I decline an Instant Quote?
You will not lose the Customer for declining an Instant Quote, but you may lose the Customer if you accept the quote and then attempt to drop it.
Is the price of materials included in an Instant Quote?
Yes, the price of materials is included in an Instant Quote.
What if the details and price in an Instant Quote are invalid?
Do not complete the service. Decline the quote and include the details of why you declined it.
What part of the property do I mow?
Refer to the Customer's service details in the app to see which parts of the yard are intended to be serviced. This could include the Front Yard (Front Yard plus Left and Right Side Yards) Left Side Yard, Right Side Yard, or Backyard.
What is included in a basic Lawn Mowing service?
The following is included:
- Full mow.
- Edging with a string trimming around the house, fences, trees, and mailboxes.
- If the customer has a hard edge already created, it should be maintained.
- Creating a hard edge is an additional cost.
- Blowing off clippings on all hard surfaces. This includes patios, walkways, and driveways.
What are Landscaping Leads?
Landscaping Leads is a way for LawnStarter to help Customers who need a service but do not want to sign up for a recurring Lawn Mowing subscription connect with Pros qualified to do the desired service.
Landscaping Leads are open to:
- Blue, Intro, Red, & Bronze tiers, provided that they have a standing balance of more than $20.
- Platinum, Gold, & Silver tiers, regardless of their standing balance.
Landscaping Leads have 4 statuses:
- New The Pro hasn’t replied to the Customer and the lead is less than 7 days old.
- Active The Customer has not hired any Pro yet but the Pro has responded to the Customer.
- Hired The Customer hired the Pro.
- Closed A Customer from the last 30 days who hired a different Pro.
What is a Pre-Authorized Work?
A Pre-Authorized Work is an additional service that a Customer has requested, in which the Pro performs a cleanup of organic materials (leaves, sticks, etc) during the first service at a pre-approved price by the Customer. The Pro gets paid for both PAW and lawn mowing if they complete the service.
- Pre-Authorized Work rates:
- $127.50 - for three man-hours, and includes leaving debris bagged on the curb.
- $170 - for three man-hours and includes hauling off of debris

Other services that you must manually quote for the Customer include:

- Drainage Installation
- Fence Repair

Can I work on pools?
No.
- Pool services are available to limited markets.
- Pool services will not be conducted by LawnStarter or Lawn Love Pros.
- Pool services are performed by partners in collaboration with LawnStarter/Lawn Love.
