What am I agreeing to when I submit my contact information?
By submitting my contact information, I agree that LawnStarter or its representatives may contact me by email, phone, or SMS at the email address or phone number I provide, including for marketing purposes and by automatic dialing systems. Is there an age requirement for working on the LawnStarter platform?
Yes, all our contractors must be at least 18 years old.
What documents are required to sign up to be a LawnStarter Pro?
You must have a valid Driver's License or State-issued ID and a Social Security Card.
Why does my account have to be verified?
The Internal Revenue Service, or IRS, requires 1099s to be generated for anyone who earns more than $600 so that the income can be taxed.
Are there any equipment requirements to be a LawnStarter Pro?
Yes, you must have the proper equipment to service the Customers.
The basic lawn mowing service includes mowing, a soft edge using a weedeater/string trimmer, and blowing the grass clippings from the hard surfaces.
What is considered Long Grass?
Grass longer than 9 inches will be tagged as Long Grass and will incur additional fees based on its height.
The Long Grass Fee policy is designed to compensate the Pro for the additional time it takes to mow the overgrown grass and the extra strain on the equipment.
How do I get paid for mowing Long Grass?
To get compensated for Long Grass, you will report the long grass in the app.
How much do I get paid if the grass is 15 inches and under?
You are eligible for an additional 50% or 100% of your regular payout price for LGF 9 to15 inches.
- If you mow the full yard for the Customer and the entire lawn has long grass from 9 to 15 inches, you will receive an increased payout of 100% for the LGF.
- If you mow only the front or back yard for the Customer, and the required mow area has LG 9 to 15 inches, you will receive an increased payout of 100% for the LGF.
- You will get an additional 50% of your regular payout price if only a portion of the area you mow has LG 9 to 15 inches.
- For example, If you mow the full yard for the Customer and only part of the lawn has LG 9 to 15 inches, you will receive an increased payout of 50% for the LGF.
- If you mow only the front or back yard for the Customer, and only part of the required mow area has LG 9 to 15 inches, you will receive an increased payout of 50% for the LGF.
What if the grass is longer than 15 inches?
You will choose the option for Long Grass over 15 inches when submitting your Long Grass Report
How much do I get paid if the grass is over 15 inches?
Reporting Long Grass over 15 inches (LG over 12 inches) will now create a system-generated quote with a set price.
- Long grass 9 to 15 inches: +200% - the total price is three times the original price.
- Long grass 16 to 21 inches: +300% - the total price is four times the original price.
- Above 22 inches: +500% - the total price is six times the original price.
How do you set the price for Long Grass?
The Long Grass Quote pricing was determined using historical pricing info from our Crews based on their pricing suggestions.
- If a Trip Fee is warranted, it will be included in the LG quote price, as opposed to paying out a separate fee.
What if I do not agree with the quote?
You will have the option to accept or decline the quote.
- Declining the quote will redistribute the job.

Do I need to wait for the Customer to approve the Long Grass Report?
- The Customer's approval is not required for Long Grass 9 to 15 inches.
- For Long Grass over 15 inches, the Customer must approve the report before the service will be scheduled and completed.

Am I required to take Long Grass photos?
Before and after photos are required for all LGF reports.
Do I need to haul away the long grass clippings?
The LG over 15 inches requires the Pro to clean up the grass clippings and place them on the curb or dispose of them. Some Customers have added bagging their clippings to their regular lawn mowing. Check the details of the service to see if this has been added.
- You must check with your city regulations on waste to make sure it is disposed of properly.
What if I forgot to report Long Grass?
You will not be able to file a Long Grass report after the mow is marked complete.
- The report must be filed with before and after pictures before marking the mow complete.
Can I file for Long Grass on a Return Request?
If you receive a return request on the mow, you will not be able to file a Long Grass on it.
Why is the Option to Claim Long Grass Not Available in the App?
If the property has been mowed within the last 30 days, the option to claim long grass will not be available.
